 Perhaps i should explain,

The "car mats" reference related to the carlton cdxi i previously won on ebay, listed as car mats.

Someone bid on the astra as well as me,i would not have known who it was (just says BIDDER 2)

My best mate has just blown up his Rover 414 and he wants to join the ranks of Carlton owners, he's admired mine for a while so I'm bidding on this for him:

Well it looks a good car, BUT........... Undecided

400 quid for a base model GL automatic with no tax & only an August test Huh

No history (only V5 & last test certificate) so no proof that the mileage is genuine.

No pictures to show what you really want to see Sad

When for another fifty quid you could have this one.........I know where I'd put my money Wink

I've seen that car in the metal a few times myself.  I often saw it in a Village called Elkesley which is right by the A! about 10 miles North of Newark.  Always looked good to me, but i only saw it from the cab of my bus.  I never had any serious problems with the one i had, wish i still had it!!

Flash, all that cutting out issue will be is probably the IACV needing to be cleaned, perhaps the throttle body too.

I saw that on ebay and I think the wheels are Diamond wheels, which makes it worth the starting price alone!

Thought about a punt on both of those cars, but got too much house stuff to do, and our lass might go a bit oriental if I dragged more cars up the drive, so I'll not bother for a good while! Grin
