Been browsing member list and there are one hell of a lot listed there that have not been active for over a year, am I being a bit mean when I ask should there names be deleted?
I would think about half of our 385 members don't contribute at all.
But would having less members be good or bad?

What do you think?

I was having this debate with Mr Mad last night and - long story short - there's pro's and con's both ways.

My view is that there should be an 'grey area' where an account will go inactive after 'x' amount of time with the option to reactivate for a further 'Y' amount of time before they get removed.
Does that make sense to anyone except me?

The main problem is the possibility that an account deletion would result in that user's posts being deleted.

Mark Could clear this one up but I think he is still incommunicado. Undecided

Same problem with all forums - a lot of people join just to view and never contribute a single post.......

I'm all for a tidy up  Grin

I wouldnt want to do anything without Ian & Marks input as founders of this Forum so I think it would be best to leave as is until Mark returns and Ian is in a position to add his input.

At that point a plan will, no doubt, be formulated in conjunction with the moderation team.

Hello, as said, some people come, join to show support and never feel the need to post.

Im sure a scheme where people have zero post count and zero activity in the past x months could be implemented Smiley

As you may have realised I am new to this group, but I'm on my third Carlton now and feel qualified enough to say that we should stick together, quiet, loud or whatever. If Carlton nuts wish only to watch and laugh then that's fine. The important thing is that we are drawn here from all walks of life and all parts of the country for the same reason: the finest car made in the 20th century! I do agree wholeheartedly with what your saying but there are some that register and go away again, no activity on there names for more than 1 year in a lot of cases, they are the ones i'm talking about Wink

I'm sure a PM could be sent a week or so before any action is taken to give the users an opportunity to object.

That way we we can sort the "Sleepers" from the "Buggered Off"

Yes totally agree, dont want to upset anyone but feel it needs sorting for the good of the club Smiley

I did not know how to post.
perhaps any email to sleepers could tell them info on stuff like that.

I don't think it matters a great deal.........you find this happens on a lot of forums.

I think the only downside is if someone takes a really good username & then never uses it, so that name is then gone.

I think there are more important things to worry about than a few old usernames that don't get used anymore.....jm2pw Smiley

I must admit that I'm not very regular on here. I can see where you're coming from though.
