OK then here we goo!!     this can be done with the seat in place or out

Will get pics when get some time!
This is if you want your arse warmed as well as your back!!

step 1-Removed Plastics from base of Seat, there is one screw holding it on at base of seat (drivers front right )(passengers front left)

Step 2 push plastic down and pull out, when this is removed you can now see the runners

Step 3 remove big knob that adjusts backrest, by prising out the the centre cap with a small flat bladed screw driver then pull knob, remove the plastic backing behind that, this should reveal on 19 mm nut and 1 circlip and a little screw, remove little srew and the nut first and leave the circlip until the other side is ready to be romoved

step 4 on the inside of the seat (where the seat belt release is ) removed plastic by pushing down and pulling out this will reveal two circlips and a little screw, remove the little screw, when this is down the backing of the seat (where the pouch is) will now be able to be pushed down and totally removed revealing theinside of your chair, hunt arround for some wiring usually at bottom left or right, unplug the wiring and feed it from the backrest

step 5 remove the two remaing circlips and the seat should come free (backrest that is ) if not give it a wiggle  Wink

step 6 depend on whether your seats are velour or leather, IMPORTANT some seats have the heated pad stitched in normally in leather!! this canbe cut out but must be very carfull, also velour seats have a different layout to the leather seats(attached differently to the foam) the leather seats are clipped in to metal rods (followsw the stiching across the top of the seat easy noticed) there are also different types of heated seat pad asweel (different layout)

step 7 the easy peasy bit get the leather or elour of push down the side of the seat amnd theres a cardboard trim that goes right round once this is off gentely prise of the seat cover (if it is leather this could be a good oppurtunity to swap the cover for a better condition one if yours is cracked split this would save postage and would be cheaper lol) in velour the pad will be stuck to the foam, this can be easily peeled off but very gentely, or in the case of leather you can either cut it out or it also may be stuck on, once on PJB says refitting is reverse,

another great oppurtunity  is that if your strings are sagging this is because of the old glue loosing its stick, on the backing cover there roughly 8 screw IIRC tek it off and have a look run some glue down the side and at the end of one string there is a clip there where the string goes into glue for extra security.
this is if you dont want to take whole seat apart and just have the back rest working
the back rest and seat are link in series so you can bypass the seat and just have the back rest heated

step remove  back cover as described above
unplug the wiring
plug main power to the backrest directely replace back cover

this should getthe back rest working

normally the back rest are fine is the main seat that gets knakerd with all the bouncing and the wires break

Hope this can get get some one warmed up LOL LMAO

Jonny

Ps if anyone would like to correct me on any of this or want to add to this then feel free  Wink

Next joby getting rear seats heated lol
