What he said.

Last thing you want to do is stick a screwdriver behind it & gradually lever it unstuck from one end as all you'll do is bend it along its length & you'll NEVER get it back on. If anything try & hairdrier & wallpaper scraper but from the top or bottom edge NOT from one end if that makes sense.

No need for paint though.... BOILED LINSEED OIL!
Wipe it on with a clean cloth and be amazed!

As said above just get a bottle from B&Q for about three quid, no need to do anything apart from rub it on with a cloth, don't remove or paint them unless you really have to Tongue

To remove the trim the best way I found was to carefully slide a large wallpaper scraper up from underneath to break through the double sided tape all the way along and then carefully lift it off.

il 3rd the option of boiled linseed oil, f'ing amazing stuff!!!! Trust!!!!!!!!!!!

ha ha, no need to boil it or warm it up.... its just called 'Boiled Linseed Oil'....... yeh sure its £3 in B&Q, soak it in an old sock is much better methinks, the sock really acts as a sponge and gets the oil right in the gaps to give complete awesome results Wink
