Hi all, my 92 carly has developed an intermittent fault on the front window. To raise or lower it, I have to hold the button down and it stop starts its way up or down in a jerky manner - instead of the usual smooth auto action. Any clues, thanks

Invariably the overcurrent sensing circuit or relay contacts inside the little ECU attached to the electric 'winder mechanism' (or fensterheber as it's called in Opel diagragms). Best to get a second hand one as the ECU is not repairable & it's only a 20min job to change it.

Try looking under the carpet in the passenger side foot well for corroded red wires.

That is more than likely your problem.

Cut them back, remake them and extend using thick wire.

Not yet Murph, I'm guessing the fault is as described by von-opel. Will post when it's fixed
