Wannabe a lotus someday....

Hello all! Just went from this

to this

So, the problem is that the the 2 adjustable lights and the switch-off delay aren't working. Anybody knows what should I do with the wiring to get them to work?

Also went from this

to this

Again, anybody knows what the wiring should be for these lights to work?

What car is it buddy?

Re; The sunblind lights, these are a simple live and neg, if you can't find a nearby feed for these you maye have to feed a wire down to a live point (say the ciggy lighter) and just take a neg feed off of the nearest point with a nut and bolt in it (the interior light should have a neg you can splice into so you won't have to run the neg wire far).

Re: the interior light, what you have put in is a standard Carlton/Senator light which has a fairly simple feed arrangement, trouble is I changed mine ages ago for one out of an old Astra/Vectra (can't remember which) and I had to bodge the wiring a bit so that is all a bit fuzzy now. Looking at the back of that light you have 4 connections - I only hope that somebody on here can remember what they are, give it a few days, if you don't get an answer send me a pm and I will nip down and whip my light out and check the wiring for you.

In my K Reg. Diplomat, the sunblind lights operate at any time; the ciggy lighter is only live with the ignition on !

The time delay courtesy light + reading lights needs 4 wires;

Grey which is switched to earth by any of the door switches (connected to 31b)

Brown connected to a permanent earth (connected to 31)

Red which is a permanent live (connected to 30)

Black which is live with the ignition on (connected to 15)

This is according to the circuit diagram and there may be numbers on the light module to indicate which terminal is which Undecided

So the feed for the sunvisor lights can be taken from the red wire (permanent live), thanks Melinx, saves me having to pull mine out and run a meter across it. Wink

Hello again. Well the light module do have numbers on it as you can see in the pic

Luckily, my rusty little friend already had the black wire.

What do you think of that for a permanent earth point? The wire should have been brown but I only had black as a a spare.

And the sunvisor is fully working!

Thanks all for your relpies!
