Next ABS/OOF/anyone-who-fancies-it-with-a-GM-car meet is:
29th November 2009 at 11-ish onwards.

Please, no plastic Corsas/Saxos or similar. This meet is for grown ups! 

Big-assed Mustangs/Skylines/BMWs etc are most welcome!

In all seriousness, I really think it's about time a few other "hardy" Northern types turned up!
All this "It's too far from me" pony.......... what on Earth do we have cars for?

Hopefully by having meets in different spots, more will attend?
Realistically, there wouldn't be the 'same five' (plus whoever lives nearby) all the time, but would be nice to put faces to names and all that.

The Midlands have a good turn out, so why not us lot? Too tight, are we?

Looking at Durham area for the next meet (end of March I think), so if you're near there, lets see ya!

I've got the exact same problem with the South Wales & West area Pete. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

When I get time, I'm gonna post a detailed response on ABS to the feedback my ideas resulted in for the Bristol area regarding a second mid-monthly meet that rotated about different areas.....Days out & BBQ evenings at various beach venues.....themed Treasure hunts/Summer drives.....Race & Rally days and other car/family activities like a trip to something like the Haynes Motoring Museum.

All of my ideas were gradually shot down due to events being too far away for everyone asked, too expensive....period, it clashed with another previously arranged event, its against some peoples beliefs to pay the Severn Bridge tolls or even that people were on Holiday when the event in question could take place.

I even had one guy in the Stroud area complain to me when I suggested a club meeting up at a pub just down the road from him in Whitminster. It was totally unnacceptable and too far for him to travel about 10minutes drive from his home to attend this suggested Sunday pub meet. I totally gave up at this point Pete as Whitminster is at least an hours motorway journey for me travelling from my home in South Wales!!! Angry Angry Angry

I know times are hard for everyone right now as money is tight but no matter what, the majority of people just won't make the slightest effort even when you offer them a Moon on a stick! Shocked Shocked Shocked

Money's tight, too far, fuel prices ..... blah blah blah - heard enough of that bollox, TBH!

It's simple - you don't buy a big fuck-off Carlton, Senator, VXR8, Commodore or Omega then blather on about fuel economy (or lack of!) and petrol prices!!!

People like this need to STFU get a 1.0, three cylinder Corsa and join the Women's Institue or GROW SOME BALLS!!!! Roll Eyes!!
