The worst thing for me is when typing a long post and the bottom of the "box" jumps up and down - most distressing.

Havent been able to replicate the problem so far!
SO when you are typing a long message, the size of the text box changes? and the scroll bar cocks up?

No, it's just that if your post is larger than the box, the line you're typing jumps around - damned annoying!
You have to check the line after typing - difficult to explain, really!

yeh i started to get those lil problems, butonly now and then, mayby the more and more people that are signing up to TC is causing it, but my post always come out ok afterwards anyways, so all good

I have just reproduced in IE8. How odd, I am fairly certain these are just standard HTML multiline text boxes, so it could be an IE error. Really you should all be using a proper browser, like Google Chrome or Firefox  Given it's the single most important piece of software installed on your operating system you should have a decent browser really I will have a dig on the simple machines forum to see if I can find anything about the issue. |

I have had a read on the simple machines site and it seems (as suspected) that this is a Microsoft bug.
If you are using IE8, when viewing this forum, click the 'Tools' menu on the top right and select 'Compatibility View'
This will stop the problem happening.
Or install one of the other browsers I mentioned... you know you want to...
